2017 Cadillac CTS-V – Whipple Supercharged 900whp
For most of us, a 900whp V3 CTS-V is definitely near the top of the list of dream daily drivers. And not one to dream without taking action, Jeff decided to bring us his 2017 Cadillac CTS-V to make that dream a reality!
Up first in the shop, Alex disassembled the LT4 to the short block and reassembled with a camshaft from Weapon X Motorsports, phase limiter from COMP Cams, valve spring set from PAC Racing Springs, rocker arm bronze bushing trunnion upgrade from Smith Brothers Pushrods, pushrods from COMP Cams, DOD delete plugs from Cam Motion, 2110 Dog Bone Style lifters from Johnson Lifters, CNC ported cylinder heads from Katech, LTR7IX-11 spark plugs from NGK Spark Plugs, custom fabricated ignition coil relocation plates with MSD Performance spark plug wires wrapped in Protect-a-Boots from Design Engineering, Inc., cylinder head studs from ARP, a W175AX 2.9L twin-screw system from Whipple Superchargers, a harmonic balancer and lower pulley setup from Weapon X Motorsports, 103mm throttle body from Nick Williams Performance, SuperFlow carbon fiber 5.00″ air-intake system from Weapon X Motorsports, 2.00″ primary ID long-tube headers from Kooks Headers and Exhaust connecting to the OEM exhaust system, SPI (Secondary Port Injection) system from Weapon X Motorsports, auxiliary fuel pump and Flex Fuel conversion from DSX Tuning, Boost Chiller setup from Weapon X Motorsports to keep output consistent even in the southeast summer heat, along with all the OEM GM odds and ends to bring it all together and eliminate DOD/AFM.
With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom Flex Fuel calibration via HP Tuners. With the Whipple 2.9L delivering ~16psi, Vlad dialed in 93 octane first coming in at a strong 794.26whp & 737.38lbft. Then with E85 in the tank, the LT4’s output jumped to a repeatable 880.01whp & 832.93lbft, with a best run of 901.07whp & 841.68lbft! Plenty more jam in the jar with additional boost pressure, but for now, Jeff’s going to have a blast with the extra 330whp. Stay tuned for more to come from this badass V3 in the future!

2011 Cadillac CTS-V – 875HP
Joseph’s 2011 Cadillac CTS-V rolled into the shop as an engine-less shell, with boxes of engine parts in the trunk, and a simple guiding goal: build his V2 into a reliable 700whp+ daily driver.
So, we inventoried what we had to work with, filled in the gaps, and turned this V2 into a street-prowling beast! The build is centered around a Steve Morris Engines built 377cid/6.2L LSA-based short block with a bump in compression ratio to 10:1, Melling Performance Parts oil pump, stock unported cylinder heads, ARP cylinder head studs, custom 3-bolt conversion camshaft from Cam Motion, valve train from Total Engine Airflow, COMP Cams, and Brian Tooley Racing, Jokerz performance ported OEM LSA 1.9L supercharger, ZPE GripTec 2.55″ upper supercharger pulley driven by a Lingenfelter Performance Engineering 9.55″ lower, OEM Camaro ZL1 supercharger lid with a Dedicated Motorsports reinforced intercooler brick, AFCO Racing heat exchanger, Aldo Welds trunk-mounted intercooler coolant tank, breathing in through an AIRAID intake system & OEM LS7 throttle body, with a Mightymouse Solutions catch can delivering clean air, breathing out through a set of Kooks Headers and Exhaust long-tube headers, with fueling provided via DSX Tuning auxiliary fuel pump & Flex Fuel conversion, Injector Dynamics ID1050X fuel injectors, and all the OEM GM & aftermarket odds-and-ends to bring it all together.
Once the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Charlie strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom Flex Fuel calibration via HP Tuners, coming in at a strong 753.35whp & 721.20lbft on E85! Pound-for-pound, it is hard to beat a well-built 750whp V2 for a daily driver.

2009 Cadillac CTS-V
Nathan brought his newly acquired Crystal Red Tintcoat 2009 Cadillac CTS-V in to have the wick turned up! With some great parts already installed — such as long-tube headers, New Era Performance 4.00″ cold-air intake, and other supporting modifications — this V2 was in good shape to get taken up a notch. Up first, Archer installed a reinforced intercooler brick from Dedicated Motorsports (to proactively address potential future failure), a Griptech 2.38″ upper supercharger pulley with a Gates Green belt, ID1050X fuel injectors from Injector Dynamics, and then custom fabricated a set of electronic exhaust cutouts utilizing components from Vibrant Performance & Quick Time Performance to give Nathan more flexibility with the exhaust note at the flick of a switch.
From there, Charlie strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to dial the new setup in via HP Tuners, resulting in a strong 597.90whp & 590.41lbft on 93 octane! Healthy outcome, especially considering that these numbers were achieved with 85° ambient air temperature — definitely a low-600s setup during the other half of the year!

2011 Cadillac CTSV Coupe
Wally’s 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe — better known as SLO CADI — is back in for a bit more work! Back in 2013, Wally brought this V2 in to kick off the modifications. First round, we installed a 3-bolt conversion camshaft, 2.55″/8.66″ pullies, supercharger cooling modifications, custom electronic cutouts, and other supporting modifications.
As you can see, he didn’t exactly stop there, and has been continuously improving this car over the past few years. Wally owns and has owned multiple highly-modified V2s over the years, from an Opulent Blue Sedan, Black Diamond Wagon MT6, Black Diamond Sedan, etc., but SLO CADI has always been a staple in his collection.
This round, Wally brought us all the parts necessary to get SLO CADI set up with a trunk-mounted ice box, to get the IAT2s nice a low for more consistent performance on the street & strip!
