  • 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat – Stage-2 Hellcat Power Package Makes 900hp+ On Pump Gas!

2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat – Stage-2 Hellcat Power Package Makes 900hp+ On Pump Gas!

It’s no secret that we absolutely love the SRT Hellcat lineup!  Whether you choose Challenger, Charger, Durango, Trackhawk, or TRX, each are a killer performance package right off the showroom floor.  But to us, we don’t believe in leaving well enough alone, especially when there’s cheap and reliable horsepower to be had!  And if you’re reading this article, then chances are you’re right there with us.

This is the reason that our Stage-1 Hellcat Power Package for these vehicles is one of most popular we offer!  Serious power increase, without any impact on drivability or reliability.  This package is proven to add up to 140hp at the tires on 93 octane pump gas, and in most cases, exceed the 800whp mark without breaking a sweat.  You can learn more about this package by watching the video below:

But what about those who want to go a little bit further, while still maintaining stock-like drivability and reliability?  That’s where our Stage-2 package comes into play!  Using our Stage-1 package as the foundation, our Stage-2 Hellcat Power Package takes it up a notch with the addition of supercharger porting, larger diameter throttle body, and higher flowing mid-pipe complete with EPA compliant catalytic converters which support over 1,000hp!  How much of an impact does this have on the dyno?  Gains of up to 180hp over stock baseline, on 93 octane pump gas!  Full contents below:

    • National Speed in-house PCM unlocking service
    Stainless Works 3.00″ ID mid-pipe
GESi G-Sport EPA compliant GEN2 HO (High Output) high-flow catalytic converters which support up to 500hp per core
    JLT Performance 125mm air-intake system
Metco Motorsports 2.85” upper supercharger pulley
TBA Machine 3.00″ dual-bearing supercharger idler pulley
TBA Machine 3.00″ supercharger tensioner pulley
    • Pinned harmonic balancer
    • Gates HD Fleetrunner Micro-V “Green” belt
Kong Performance ported supercharger & inlet port matched to 108mm throttle body
    Kong Performance 108mm throttle body
    • Properly gapped NGK LFR7AIX spark plugs
    Injector Dynamics ID1050x fuel injectors
    • Optional MotoRad 180° thermostat
    • Optional J&L OSC air-oil separator
    • Optional Borla exhaust system
    • Genuine OEM Mopar components required for installation
    HP Tuners Smart Access cable
    HP Tuners credits
    • Custom National Speed calibration on the dyno

And this package is exactly what Adam wanted for his brand new, showroom stock 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody!

And the great thing is that this stock engine bay won’t appear dramatically different after all of this work!

HP Tuners Smart Access cable being installed for the initial read prior to PCM unlocking…

    Supercharger off to porting!

See the oil buildup in the intake ports?  This car is brand new, and it’s already accumulated that much!  This is why the J&L OSC air-oil separator is a strongly recommended option…

The Kong Performance 108mm throttle body…

Injector Dynamics ID1050x fuel injectors going in…

The finished result!  Crazy to think the under-hood aesthetic is mostly stock appearing, but is packing 180hp extra…

And the result?  With a stock baseline of 664.44whp & 648.66lbft, our Stage-2 package increases output to a blistering 847.45whp & 751.57lbft on 93 octane pump gas!  Peak gains of 183.01whp & 102.91lbft, all without compromising drivability or reliability.  Absolutely killer performance!

  • 2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road – Magnuson Supercharger

    2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road – Magnuson Supercharger

To us, there’s no arguing that the 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner is a fantastic vehicle both on and off road!  Capable, well-rounded, and just as comfortable in bumper-to-bumper traffic, as it is dragging bumpers on on the trails.  But the other point that deserves no argument, is that while these rigs have many merits, their major drawback is the 1GR-FE engine’s glaringly underwhelming power output across the board.

Sure, it’s Toyota reliable and will basically run forever with minimal attention, but the more adventurous owners are left wanting a bit more than this engine can deliver in factory form.  The solution?  A supercharger system from Magnuson Superchargers, of course!  And that’s what Greg brought us his 2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road to have done!

With the stock intake manifold removed, the Magnuson Supercharger can now be set into place!

Oh, yeah, looking much better already!

Nicely designed supercharger drive belt system, as always from Magnuson Superchargers!

And the finished product!  Now, this is one of the many things we absolutely love about Magnuson Superchargers systems… Stock-like fit & finish.  It looks like it came from the factory that way!  Even the factory airbox is retained, which is an added bonus for those with an aftermarket snorkel, as most are designed to connect to the factory airbox.

And of course, one of the other things we love about Magnuson Superchargers, is the POWER!  While Greg did not opt for custom tuning with this project, we normally see between 320-330hp & 300-310lbft at the wheels with Magnuson Supercharger equipped 4Runners!  And considering that these rigs in factory form normally put down a flat 220-230hp & 230-240lbft at the wheels, that’s a significant improvement not only at peak, but also under the curve where you use it most!

  • PCM Unlock Service – 2015+ Mopar Vehicles

PCM Unlock Service – 2015+ Mopar Vehicles

PCM Unlock – 2015+ Mopar vehicles

National Speed offers PCM (Powertrain Control Module) unlocking services for 2015+ Mopar (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram) vehicles. Recalibrating or tuning a Mopar PCM involves physical modifications to the module to unlock the potential. This service is needed when tuning a vehicle to compensate for modifications, resulting in added power, torque, and performance. What does this mean to you? Fast Service! In the past, unlocking services meant sending your PCM directly HPTuners to unlock, getting the PCM sent back, and then tuning your vehicle in the shop. With shipping, waiting, shipping, and waiting…the process could take a week, sometimes more, to get a PCM back in the shop. Now that unlocking services can happen here in the shop, we cut out days of downtime and can get performance installations and tuning done faster. Tuning is necessary for any of our Staged Performance Packages and we have parts in stock to handle all Stage 1 and Stage 2 installs now… with no delays, backorders, or downtime.

  • Tough Tacoma: Scott Bryan’s Magnuson Supercharged Toyota Tacoma

Tough Tacoma: Scott Bryan’s Magnuson Supercharged Toyota Tacoma

When you think of common mods for Toyota Tacomas nowadays, you think suspension, bumpers, bed racks, etc.

But Scott had a better idea…boost!

Scott came to us with a simple goal, to pick up the pace in this 2019 Toyota Tacoma and get the V6 boosted with the help of a supercharger. Luckily, we knew how to make it happen.

With Scott’s Tacoma in the garage and our amazing team under the hood, we got to work on forcing some induction on the 3.5L. Magnuson’s TVS1900 System is a great option for boosting the third generation Tacoma, really due to the unit’s thermal efficiency, resulting in reliable and considerable gains on the rollers.

The parts of the kit itself were beautiful and of course the great quality that Magnuson always delivers. There are few things more appealing than freshly machined aluminum in our eyes.

After getting the motor buttoned up and filled with Mobil 1, our team at the Wilmington shop and calibrator Vlad got Scott’s Tacoma on the rollers and set for tuning.

Achieving what he had sought out for, Scott’s Tacoma put down 310whp and 290lbft of torque, nearly 100hp and 50lbft in gains!

With goals met and the Tacoma ready to go, we can’t wait to see what Scott does with it! Let us know if your Tacoma needs a similar boost.

  • Bryan’s Foxbody Obsession

    Bryan’s Foxbody Obsession

There’s always some enthusiasts who connect with a specific car and just develop a passion that brings that model to the absolute pinnacle of their vision. We’ve seen it all the time, from domestics to imports. Every car enthusiast makes this connection to some extent.

One prime example of this is Bryan. Bryan loves Foxbody Mustangs more than almost anyone does, we’re willing to bet. When Bryan first came to us, he had a plan for not one, but two Foxbody builds, a 1989 and a 1993, with distinctly different visions for both. The best of both worlds if you will. We couldn’t have been more excited to take these on and bring this twin Foxbody vision to life.

First up, this absolutely stunning 1989 model year, was to be a simple build with ties to the OEM nostalgic setup, but with the addition of a built transmission and some boost! Putting the pressure down on the 5.0L 302 is a Vortech Superchargers V-3 Si-Trim Supercharger System

Bringing life to the motor setup, we swapped out the injectors and spark plugs, using NGK and Ford Racing parts, including Ford Racing 47lb EV6 fuel injectors with a Brian Tooley Racing EV1 to EV6 adapter for proper fitting without having to modify the factory wiring harness.

To beef up the drivetrain while running through the gears, we reached out to the team at Monster Transmission & Performance to help Bryan with a heavy duty 4 Speed AOD Transmission. To compliment this truly monster gearbox, we upgraded all the components surrounding, from an ATP Automotive flex plate to pedal and shift linkage bushings from Dorman Products.  All the epic parts in the world can’t do their best if the support for them is aged and worn!

To keep this Fox breathing clear, we swapped out the headers and X-Pipe for some quality parts from the team at BBK Performance Parts. To keep everything regulated, the radiator and thermostat were replaced and upgraded with a Motorad 180 thermostat and Mishimoto aluminum radiator with a dual fan system from Ron Francis Wiring to keep the air flowing and the engine cool.

With the mechanical work wrapped up in the shop by John, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via SCT Performance! With 93 octane in the tank and the Vortech V-3 Si delivering ~8psi, Vlad increased the 5.0L HO 302’s output to a solid 306.43whp & 359.59lbft!

Next up is Bryan’s 1993 Foxbody Mustang SVT, getting set for an Edelbrock supercharged Coyote swap and 9 inch rear! We can’t wait to see these two together when they’re both finished. More progress coming soon, so stay tuned for updates!
