    Crystal White Pearl 2019 Subaru WRX STI S209 – Reliability Mods

    Our first S209 – one of the 209 USDM units produced – to come through the shop and hit the rollers!

    Erik, the owner of this magnificent Crystal White Pearl 2019 Subaru WRX STI S209, is clearly a huge Subaru enthusiast, and is no stranger to modifying the platform. So, naturally, he had a few key modifications in mind for both improved performance and reliability.

    After everyone was done snapping their personal pictures, John strapped her down to the rollers for baseline dyno pulls to establish our starting point, coming in at a strong 303.88awhp & 298.16lbft, with the HKS turbocharger delivering 18psi.

    From there, we installed a Street Series air/oil separator from IAG Performance, along with a cylinder 4 chamber cooling system from Getadomtune, and from there, she went back to the rollers to get flashed with a Stage-1 OTS map via COBB Tuning’s V3 Accessport. The result? Output increased to 330.95awhp & 328.08lbft, a gain of 27.07awhp & 29.92lbft! Stay tuned for more to come from this gorgeous S209!

    2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS – Whipple Supercharged

    Jack brought us his 2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS in to have the LT1’s output taken up to LT4 level!

    Up first in the shop, Alex installed a W175AX 2.9L twin-screw system from Whipple Superchargers, Super Damper from ATI Performance Products, and LTR7IX-11 spark plugs from NGK Spark Plugs. Then with the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners.

    With the Whipple 2.9L delivering ~9psi, 93 octane in the tank, and 100% stock exhaust system in place, Vlad increased the LT1’s output to 578.93whp & 614.37lbft — a gain of ~150whp & 200lbft over where these cars normally baseline on our dynos! That’s definitely a difference Jack will notice when he hits the skinny pedal.

    Miguel brought us his 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE to get the LT4’s output taken up a notch!

    Up first in the shop, Dom installed a Roto-Fab, LLC Big Gulp air-intake system, GripTec 2.30″ upper supercharger pulley, a Mightymouse Solutions Mild catch can, CORSA Performance 1.875″ primary OD long-tube headers connecting to the OEM exhaust system, MSD Performance spark-plug wires wrapped in Design Engineering, Inc. Protect-a-Boots, and a Lingenfelter Performance Engineering 160° thermostat.

    With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, John strapped her back down for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners. The results? 649.42whp & 676.74lbft on 93 octane, a gain of ~80whp & ~50lbft over where these cars normally baseline on our dynos! A ZL1 1LE is an absolute animal of a road & track car at this power level — Miguel is sure to enjoy every time he gets behind the wheel.

    Downshift Blue 2020 Toyota GR Supra – EcuTek Tuned

    Kevin brought us his Downshift Blue 2020 Toyota GR Supra to get it sitting right and to get the B58 woken up!

    Up first, Matt strapped her down for pre-work dyno pulls to establish our stock baseline, coming in at 337.79whp & 400.56lbft. Then in the shop, to allow the turbocharger to breathe more easily and also free up a bit more of the B58’s exhaust note, Alex installed a down-pipe from Extreme Turbo Systems connecting to the OEM exhaust system, and then to get the A90 handling better and sitting right with the forged HRE Performance Wheels P101 wheels, installed a set of V3 coilovers from KW suspensions.

    With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her back down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via EcuTek Technologies Ltd. With 93 octane in the tank, and 98° F ambient air temperature in the dyno room, Vlad was able to increase the B58’s output to 444.77whp & 528.79lbft, holding 21psi to redline — a gain of 106.98whp & 128.23lbft over stock! Killer result for this gorgeous A90!

    Justin brought us his super clean 2013 Subaru WRX STI for an IAG short block, Flex Fuel conversion, and get into the mid-400awhp range!

    Up first in the shop, starting with a Stage 2 Tuff short block from IAG Performance, Dylan rebuilt the EJ257 with brand new OEM Subaru gaskets & seals, WRX STI 11mm oil pump, V2 oil pump pickup tube from IAG Performance, OEM Subaru timing components with a Blue racing belt from Gates, fasteners from ARP, Flex Fuel conversion from COBB Tuning including ID1050x fuel injectors from Injector Dynamics, custom equal length header & up-pipe, MV-S wastegate from TiAL Sport, FP Blue turbocharger from Forced Performance Turbochargers, turbocharger inlet from COBB Tuning, down-pipe from Invidia Exhaust connecting to the existing Invidia exhaust system, Street Series air/oil separator from IAG Performance, twin-disc clutch kit EXEDY USA, aluminum radiator from Mishimoto Automotive, all working perfectly with the existing modifications including an air-intake system from GrimmSpeed, blow-off valve from GFB, and top-mount intercooler from Process West.

    With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, John strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom Flex Fuel Pro Tune via COBB Tuning‘s V3 Accessport. Starting with 93 octane in the tank and with the FP Blue delivering 18psi, Vlad increased the EJ257’s output to 390.01awhp & 367.67lbft. Then moving on to E85, with the FP Blue delivering 25psi, output increased to 445.32awhp & 442.46lbft! Perfect power level for a ridiculously fun street STI, that Justin is sure to enjoy!

  • 2017 Cadillac CTS-V – Whipple Supercharged 900whp

    For most of us, a 900whp V3 CTS-V is definitely near the top of the list of dream daily drivers. And not one to dream without taking action, Jeff decided to bring us his 2017 Cadillac CTS-V to make that dream a reality!

    Up first in the shop, Alex disassembled the LT4 to the short block and reassembled with a camshaft from Weapon X Motorsports, phase limiter from COMP Cams, valve spring set from PAC Racing Springs, rocker arm bronze bushing trunnion upgrade from Smith Brothers Pushrods, pushrods from COMP Cams, DOD delete plugs from Cam Motion, 2110 Dog Bone Style lifters from Johnson Lifters, CNC ported cylinder heads from Katech, LTR7IX-11 spark plugs from NGK Spark Plugs, custom fabricated ignition coil relocation plates with MSD Performance spark plug wires wrapped in Protect-a-Boots from Design Engineering, Inc., cylinder head studs from ARP, a W175AX 2.9L twin-screw system from Whipple Superchargers, a harmonic balancer and lower pulley setup from Weapon X Motorsports, 103mm throttle body from Nick Williams Performance, SuperFlow carbon fiber 5.00″ air-intake system from Weapon X Motorsports, 2.00″ primary ID long-tube headers from Kooks Headers and Exhaust connecting to the OEM exhaust system, SPI (Secondary Port Injection) system from Weapon X Motorsports, auxiliary fuel pump and Flex Fuel conversion from DSX Tuning, Boost Chiller setup from Weapon X Motorsports to keep output consistent even in the southeast summer heat, along with all the OEM GM odds and ends to bring it all together and eliminate DOD/AFM.

    With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom Flex Fuel calibration via HP Tuners. With the Whipple 2.9L delivering ~16psi, Vlad dialed in 93 octane first coming in at a strong 794.26whp & 737.38lbft. Then with E85 in the tank, the LT4’s output jumped to a repeatable 880.01whp & 832.93lbft, with a best run of 901.07whp & 841.68lbft! Plenty more jam in the jar with additional boost pressure, but for now, Jeff’s going to have a blast with the extra 330whp. Stay tuned for more to come from this badass V3 in the future!

  • Black Onyx 2005 Lexus IS300 – 6 Speed VVTi 2JZ-GTE Swapped

    Nearly 700whp, 6-speed manual transmission, Flex Fuel enabled, a well featured stand-alone engine management system, with factory creature comforts retained: that all makes for one seriously fun street car, and that’s exactly what Nick brought us his Black Onyx 2005 Lexus IS300 to get done!

    Up first in the shop, we got busy performing the automatic to manual transmission conversion via a GR700 T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission setup from Grannas Racing featuring an adapter bellhousing from Quick Time Bellhousings, chromoly transmission mount, shifter relocation, electrical components, an adapter driveshaft from Driveshaft Shop, speed signal conversion from Grannas Racing, Grannas Racing spec RXT twin-disc clutch from McLeod Clutches, clutch master cylinder setup from Grannas Racing, manual transmission pedal conversion from Driftmotion, Inc., all topped off with brand new OEM Lexus interior trim pieces and components to complete the manual transmission conversion.

    From there we moved on to fabricating a complete ethanol compatible fuel system featuring a twin 450lph fuel pump hanger from Powerhouse Racing, dual 485 in-tank fuel pumps from Walbro Fuel Pumps, ID1300x fuel injectors from Injector Dynamics, ID750 fuel filter from Injector Dynamics, and components from Radium Engineering, Aeromotive Fuel Systems, DeatschWerks, and Vibrant Performance.

    Moving on to the engine setup, we converted the Aristo VVTi 2JZ-GTE’s wasted spark setup to a non-VVTi coil-on-plug ignition utilizing OEM Toyota components, installed a drive-by-wire conversion system designed by Vlad featuring a VQ35DE throttle body, aluminum adapter, and drive-by-wire pedal assembly, custom fabricated a dual catch can setup utilizing components from Radium Engineering and Powerhouse Racing, custom fabricated a down-pipe utilizing components from Vibrant Performance connecting to an RS exhaust system from GReddy Performance Products – GPP, custom fabricated an exhaust heat shield, XTM oil filter relocation setup, billet valve covers, and upper radiator hose from Powerhouse Racing, with all newly fabricated exhaust components Cerakote coated, and the intake, throttle body adapter, intercooler piping, coolant neck, power steering reservoir, and battery box powder coated gloss black by Detective Coating.

    Then, we installed and set up the Infinity 506 from AEM Performance Electronics with fail-safes, Flex Fuel conversion components, along with a 3.5″ TFT gauge from BTI Gauges streaming vitals, and topped off with a momentary switch for rolling anti-lag and 2-step launch control. From there, John strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom Flex Fuel calibration. With the longevity of the stock VVTi 2JZ-GTE bottom end in mind, Vlad proceeded with the 93 octane calibration yielding a healthy 488.12whp & 473.55lbft at 20psi, and then with E85 in the tank, increased output to a safe but strong 686.14whp & 660.67lbft at 33psi! Overall, this was an absolutely incredible build that we are proud to have been a part of!

  • 2005 Chevrolet Corvette – Magnuson Supercharged

    Ready to wake the factory LS2 up, Joe brought us his 2005 Chevrolet Corvette to have it put under pressure! Up first in the shop, Andrew got busy installing a TVS 2300 supercharger system from Magnuson Superchargers, a set of TR6 spark plugs from NGK Spark Plugs, spark plug wires from MSD Performance wrapped in Protect-a-Boots from Design Engineering, Inc., all topped off with an SV4 hood from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering to make room for the supercharger.

    With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners. With 93 octane in the tank, and the TVS 2300 delivering 7psi, Vlad increased the LS2’s output to a strong 536.7whp & 489.37lbft through the 100% factory exhaust! Considering these cars normally put down around 360whp & 350lbft in stock form on our dynos, that’s a difference Joe is sure to notice when he hits the skinny pedal!

    Up first, Tim set the LSA engine up with an air-intake system from JLT Performance, GripTec 2.35″ upper supercharger pulley from ZPE, Green HD Fleetrunner belt from Gates, solid supercharger isolator from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, reinforced supercharger intercooler brick from Dedicated Motorsports, 42mm core heat exchanger from C&R Racing, 160° thermostat from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, long-tube headers from Stainless Works connecting to a ATAK exhaust system from Borla Exhaust, TR6 spark plugs from NGK Spark Plugs, spark plug wires from MSD Performance wrapped in Protect-a-Boots from Design Engineering, Inc., Flex Fuel conversion from DSX Tuning, auxiliary fuel pump from DSX Tuning, ID1050X fuel injectors from Injector Dynamics, Mild catch can from Mightymouse Solutions, all topped off with lower control arms, rear trailing arms, rear tie rods, and polyurethane bushings from BMR Suspension to help put the power down.

    With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, John strapped her back down for Vlad to perform a custom Flex Fuel calibration via HP Tuners. With the factory 1.9L supercharger delivering 14-15psi, Vlad increased the LSA’s output to 595.05whp & 590.19lbft on 93 octane and 657.35whp & 625.15lbft on E85! Solid results through the 6L90E automatic transmission.

    Up first in the shop, Tim set the 2.0L EcoBoost up with a bolt-on GTX3076R turbocharger from Garrett – Advancing Motion packaged for the MK3 Focus platform by ATP Turbo, an Xtra Fuel port injection system from Stratified Automotive Controls, MV-S wastegate from TiAL Sport, Exhale hard pipe kit from Custom Performance Engineering, Super Sequential blow-off valve from HKS, all working perfectly with the existing modifications including an air-intake system from Custom Performance Engineering, down-pipe from MBRP, and exhaust system from AWE Tuning.

    With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, John strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom Pro Tune via COBB Tuning’s Accessport. With the GTX3076R delivering 27psi, Vlad increased the EcoBoost’s output to a strong 400.77whp & 391.01lbft! Absolute blast of a power level with an MK3 Focus!
