    2010 Mustang GT500 – MMR Steet Mod 1000

Buying a dream car with an underlying, serious issue — it’s every gearhead’s worse fear. And sadly, that’s the situation James found himself in with his newly acquired VMP 2.3L supercharged 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. When this occurs, there are generally three options: 1) cut your losses. 2) repair as cost-effectively as possible. 3) take it as an opportunity to improve, building it stronger, and making it better. What path did James choose? Well, option 3, of course!

After diagnosing the piston failure, Archer removed & disassembled the engine to determine the extent of the damage, and inventory reusable components. From there, the piston-shrapnel damaged cylinder heads went to our friends at Ballos Precision Machine for casting repair & a full refresh. Then, we weighed the options, and with his future power goals in mind, James opted to go with Modular Motorsports Racing – MMR 5.4L Street Mod 1,000 built short block for the core of his build. Once the short block arrived, Archer got to reassembling the new engine with ARP fasteners, all new OEM Ford gaskets, seals, timing components, pumps, along with all the OEM & aftermarket odds-and-ends to bring it together, topped off with Stainless Works long-tube headers & X-pipe.

Once the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Charlie strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners. With 93 octane in the tank, Vlad increased this Condor’s output to 692.77whp & 671.19lbft! And with that, James had his baby back, better than ever, and ready to be enjoyed (read: thrashed) for years to come!

  • 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat – 900HP

    2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat – 900HP

Istvan brought his 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat in for the first round of modifications! And with a Hellcat, that spells 800whp, of course. Working with the existing aFe POWER intake system, Jackson installed a Metco Motorsports 2.75″ upper pulley to get the 2.4L supercharger spinning a bit higher, along with a Gates green belt & Metco billet idler to keep belt slip in check, and addressed fuel supply with a set of Injector Dynamics ID1050X fuel injectors. Up next, Charlie strapped her down to the rollers so that Vlad could perform a custom dyno calibration via HP Tuners. The result? 800.21whp & 748.24lbft on 93 octane! Absolutely killer outcome! Check out the dyno video in comments section.

  • 1994 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo

    1994 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo

Another immaculate JZA80/MKIV Toyota Supra came through the shop for some work! This one in particular, is Jason’s 32,000 mile Renaissance Red 1994 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo. While this car is absolutely pristine top-to-bottom, we discovered that cylinder No. 4 was significantly down on compression due to a leaking exhaust valve, along with a pair of 25-year old original turbochargers which had seen better days. So, Jason took the opportunity to not only correct the issue, but have some fun while we were in there!

Up first, Louis removed the cylinder head for a full cylinder head service & rebuild by Ballos Precision Machine, then reinstalled with a full OEM Toyota top-end reseal along with ARP cylinder head studs, OEM Toyota timing set, OEM Toyota coil pack connectors, installed rebuilt turbochargers & performed the “True TT” from sequential conversion with OEM Toyota components, and then with the maintenance work out of the way, got to installing an Apexi co.,ltd intake system, HKS Fuel Cut Defender, Tanabe USA down-pipe, Extreme Turbo Systems full titanium exhaust system, and an Extreme Turbo Systems front-mount intercooler system with TiAL Sport Q 50mm blow-off valve.

Once Louis wrapped all the work in the shop, Charlie strapped her down for some post-work dyno pulls. Running on the factory untuned ECU, this refreshed & better-breathing 2JZ-GTE put down 358.08whp & 332.95lbft through the automatic transmission! Killer results for this pristine MKIV!

  • 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport – Supercharged

Pound-for-pound, the C6 Corvette Grand Sport truly is a fantastic platform to build from — all of the great equipment from the base C6, along with Z06-size widebody, Z06-size brakes, upgraded suspension, dry-sump oil system for manual transmission models, etc. While it’s undoubtedly a killer package, it’s missing just one small thing… you guessed it: BOOST!

And that’s what Sam brought us his 100% stock 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport to address! Up first, Matt strapped her down for some baseline runs, then she went into the shop where Andrew set the LS3 engine up with a Heartbeat TVS2300 supercharger system from Magnuson Superchargers, along with Lingenfelter Performance Engineering subframe spacers, and to finish up, she went back to the rollers to get dialed in by Vlad via HP Tuners.

The results? 510.51whp & 458.91lbft at ~6.5psi on 93 octane! That’s a gain of 126.90whp & 77.33lbft over the baseline of 383.61whp & 381.58lbft. Solid results considering the rest of the car is 100% stock — just some exhaust work and a bit more boost away from ZR1 power output!

  • 2004 Subaru WRX – EJ207 Swap

    2004 Subaru WRX – EJ207 Swap

After several years of solid service, the original EJ205 engine in Johnathan’s 2004 Subaru WRX suffered bearing failure. But rather than restarting with an EJ205-based build, Johnathan decided to take a different route: EJ207 engine swap from the JDM Version 7 Subaru WRX STi! What’s so great about that engine? Out-of-the-box 8,000RPM+ redline, semi-closed deck block, AVCS intake camshafts, IHI VF30 turbocharger good for 300awhp+, and proven resilience to over 500awhp on stock internals — one seriously fun package!

Once we had the imported engine in-shop from J-Spec Auto Sports Inc., John removed the damaged EJ205 engine and transferred the reusable performance parts to the EJ207 engine, along with a new EXEDY USAclutch & Fidanza Performance 9.5lb aluminum flywheel. and performed the necessary wiring modifications to enable AVCS. Next, it’s time for the final installation, first startup, and then she’s hitting the rollers to get dialed in by Vlad via EcuFlash. Stay tuned for results!

    2018 Ford Mustang GT350 – Whipple

Billy brought us his gorgeous Ruby Red Metallic 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 to have the 5.2L Voodoo put under a little pressure!

Up first in the shop, Jackson installed a Gen-III 2.9L twin-screw system from Whipple Superchargers, ID1050X fuel injectors from Injector Dynamics, billet oil pump gears from Modular Motorsports Racing – MMR, a set of LZTR7AIX-13 spark plugs from NGK Spark Plugs, along with all the miscellaneous OEM Ford components to bring it all together.

Then with the mechanical work completed, Charlie strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners. The result? 781.62whp & 551.18lbft on 93 octane! An increase of ~320whp & ~190lbft over where these cars normally baseline stock on our dyno, with only 10psi.

  • 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

    2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Back in 2015, Angel brought us his 2011 Cadillac CTS-V to have the wick turned up, and now, he’s back with his new toy: Nightfall Gray Metallic 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. This round, we’re cooling the LT4 down a bit, and letting it breathe a bit deeper & a bit easier by installing a JLT PerformanceBig Air intake system, a ZPE GripTec 2.30″ upper supercharger pulley with Gates Green belt, a Mishimoto Automotive 160° thermostat, all exhaling through Kooks Custom Headers long-tube headers. After Andrew wrapped the mechanical work in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to bring it all together with a custom calibration via HP Tuners.

  • 2018 Mustang 1,000HP Package

    2018 Mustang 1,000HP Package

    ’18 Mustang // Turn-Key Package // 1,000+ Horsepower:

    1000hp Mustang Whipple

That’s what Barry was looking for when he brought us his 2018 Ford Mustang GT A10, and that’s exactly what we delivered. It’s no secret that these Gen-III Coyotes are one of the strongest modular Ford engines ever produced. Rewind just 10 years ago, and such a power level would require built engine, reinforced/reengineered drivetrian, stand-alone engine management, etc. In this case, our 1,000+ horsepower Mustang Gen-III Coyote Package is built around a practically stock engine, transmission, rear end, all on stock ECU — comprised of the following:

Whipple Superchargers 3.0L twin-screw supercharger system, upgraded heat exchanger, 10-rib pulley conversion, ATI Performance Products harmonic balancer, Stainless Works 2.00″ primary diameter long-tube headers and 3.00″ diameter exhaust system, Modular Motorsports Racing – MMR billet oil pump gears & sprocket, Fore Innovations, LLCL1E return-style fuel system, Injector Dynamics ID1050X fuel injectors, Driveshaft Shop 3.50″ chromoly driveshaft, Ford Performance driveshaft safety loop, Driveshaft Shop 1,400hp Pro-Level axles, Bmr Suspension Inc rear subframe cradle lockdown, all brought together with a custom calibration by Vlad via HP Tuners. And while Barry is going to put this beast to good use at the drag strip, this Mustang also needs to be able to hit the grocery store just as effectively. So, we gave him two calibrations, one for 93 octane, one for E85. The results? On 93 octane: a killer 814.77whp & 696.22lbft… More than enough for effective grocery store runs. On E85: a staggering 974.15whp & 791.05lbft! See video in comments.

The crazy part is that number is just where we chose to stop — with more ignition timing, this setup would have easily hit ~1,050whp/850lbft. That said, after we hit the 974whp/791lbft mark, we backed it down to around 925whp/740lbft for delivery — if the extra 50whp/40lbft is ever needed, it’s just one flash away. Needless to say, Barry is going to enjoy himself out at the track and on the street alike!

In short, we truly are living in the Golden Age of internal combustion performance.

  • 1995 Toyota Supra – 1,200HP

    1995 Toyota Supra – 1,200HP

Hector brought us his 1995 Toyota Supra to have the turbocharger system updated, and the new setup dialed in! Up first, Archer to set this built 2JZ-GTE up with a Virtual Works Racing T4 turbocharger manifold, Precision Turbo & Engine 7675 turbocharger, TiAL Sport MV-R wastegates, custom fabricated dump-tubes, and performed all the other custom fabrication work needed to adapt the new configuration to the existing intercooler & exhaust system.

After the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Charlie strapped this JZA80 down for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via AEM V2 EMS. While the final numbers are well into the four-digits, exact numbers will remain undisclosed… but who doesn’t love the sights & sounds of a 1,xxxwhp Supra twisting the rollers?
