  • 2013 Scion FR-S – E-Force Supercharger

    2013 Scion FR-S – E-Force Supercharger

We’ve built & tuned many force inducted variations of the BRZ/FR-S/GT86 — mainly turbocharged — but have always wanted to see and hear this exact combination. There’s just something undeniably cool about hearing the whine of a positive-displacement supercharger and the rumble of a Subaru coming from the same car.

So, suffice it to say, we were pretty excited when Travis brought us his 2013 Scion FR-S, which features an Edelbrock Performance E-Force packaged Eaton TVS1320 supercharger, unequal length header and full exhaust, Injector Dynamics ID1050X fuel injectors, AEM Performance Electronics 340lph in-tank fuel pump, and other supporting modifications.

Once the minor mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Charlie strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom Flex Fuel calibration via EcuTek Technologies Ltd. The results? 285.38whp & 226.57lbft on 93 octane, and 318.62whp & 247.16lbft on E85! Solid outcome for the combination — it has got to an absolute blast to drive.

  • 2002 BMW M3 – Supercharged

Donald brought his 2002 BMW M3 in for a massive refresh & transformation! With ~165K on the clock, the E46 was starting to show her age a bit, and given that Donald wanted to significantly — but reliably — increase the S54’s performance for the long run, in-depth maintenance was needed. To address the notorious rod bearing issues associated with these engines (especially at this mileage) and also refresh the rest of the engine, Donald decided to go all-in on the solution! That solution? Full rebuilt & built long block from Lang Racing Development – BMW and Porsche Specialists, including their Stage-II ported cylinder head with Supertech valvetrain, DLC coated rocker arms, modified OEM S54 crankshaft with widened journals, CP-Carrillo connecting rods, a set of 11.5:1CR forged pistons (OEM S54 CR) from CP Pistons, OEM BMW fasteners, bearings, gaskets, seals, timing components, VANOS components, oil pump with modified disk, etc., with a Mishimoto Automotive aluminum radiator to keep coolant temperature in check.

Then to achieve the desired power output, we added an Active Autowerke Gen-9 supercharger system featuring a Rotrex C38-92, Active Autowerke water/methanol injection system to keep the air charge consistently cool, all breathing through a CORSA Performance exhaust system. Then, we moved on to compliment the new power output with handling & braking characteristics to match, with a Wilwood Disc Brakes front & rear big brake kit, KW suspensions Variant-II coilover set with Turner Motorsport caster/camber plate, Turner Motorsport front/rear subframe & chassis reinforcements, with all the OEM BMW mounts, bushings, and miscellaneous components to bring it all together.

Once John wrapped the mechanical work in the shop, she hit the rollers to get dialed in! With the Rotrex generating ~6.5psi of pressure, power output increased to 454.54whp & 303.92lbft on 93 octane! Gains of 202.30whp & 133.71lbft at redline, with strong gains realized all across the powerband. With every major area addressed but the SMG system — the future failure of which Donald plans to use as an opportunity to perform a Getrag 420G 6-speed swap — this E46 is sure to keep Donald smiling for another 165K miles! Once the 6-speed swap is performed down the line, we’ll be turning the wick up to see just how much headroom we’ve got. Stay tuned in the future for more to come from this E46!

  • 1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R

    1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R

Luis brought his 1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R in for some in-depth maintenance and to have the whole setup dialed in on the rollers! Up first, we were tasked with diagnosing a low oil pressure condition — after inspecting everything possible outside of the engine (including oil for signs of bearing material/wear metals), we concluded that it was almost certainly what always causes low oil pressure on a factory-sealed RB26DETT: rear housing bolts on the oil pump backed out, causing internal pressure loss. And that’s precisely what we discovered!

Up next, we reassembled the engine with brand new OEM Nissan timing components, N1 oil pump, N1 water pump, and all the OEM Nissan gaskets & seals to complete the installation. With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, the mint-condition NISMO LMGT4 wheels came off, the stock wheels went on, and then she hit the rollers to get dialed in by Vlad via Haltech.

With N1 turbochargers feeding 18psi, Vlad was able to increase power output to 444.31whp & 375.02lbft on 93 octane! Solid results!

    2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – 720HP

Paul brought in his gorgeous Laguna Blue Tricoat 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 for the first round of modifications! Up first, Charlie strapped the C7 down for some pre-work pulls (baselining at 546.12whp & 585.82lbft), then she went to the shop where Archer installed a ZPE GripTec 2.38″ upper pulley to get the 1.76L Eaton supercharger spinning a bit faster, an aFe POWER Momentum air-intake system, and a set of American Racing Headers long-tube headers to let the mighty LT4 breathe easier.

With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Charlie strapped her back down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners

The results? 618.96 & 654.19lbft on 93 octane, a gain of 72.84whp & 68.37lbft over baseline! Solid results for this C7Z. Check out the dyno video below!

  • 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack – 950HP

    2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack – 950HP

Brad brought us his Plum Crazy 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody to have it transformed into a Dodge Demon slayer — and coming in at 950bhp on 93 octane at only 12psi, versus the Demon’s 840bhp on 100 octane at 14.5psi, we’d say that hit the mark! Up first, John disassembled the engine to the bare block, and rebuilt the 392 with 2618 forged drop-in pistons from MAHLE, along with drop-in forged H-beam connecting rods from Molnar Technologies, CNC ported cylinder heads from Modern Muscle Xtreme, custom VVT camshaft from Cam Motion, valvetrain from Manley Performance Products, Inc. & OEM Hellcat, all fasteners from ARP, MDS delete utilizing OEM Mopar components, along with all the OEM & aftermarket odds-and-ends to bring it all together.

With the engine reassembled & reinstalled in the car, John moved on to installing the 2.9L W175ax twin-screw system from Whipple Superchargers breathing through a Green Filter USA air filter, 18% overdrive harmonic balancer from ATI Performance Products, fueled by Injector Dynamics ID1050X fuel injectors & Hellcat fitment Walbro Fuel Pumps 525lph in-tank fuel pump, breathing through a set of Stainless Works long-tube headers, all transmitting through a single-piece aluminum driveshaft from Driveshaft Shop.

With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners. With 93 octane in the tank, and on only 12psi of boost pressure, Vlad was able to increase output to 790.76whp & 685.90lbft! Plenty to keep Brad white knuckled for the time being, knowing there’s a ton of headroom if (let’s be real, it’s more like when) he’s ready.
