  • 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

    2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

Josh’s 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is in for its first round of work! Up first, Andrew is setting the LT4 up with Stainless Works long-tube headers, JLT Performance cold-air intake system, ZPE GripTec 2.30″ upper supercharger pulley, then she’s hitting the rollers to get dialed in by Vlad via HP Tuners! Stay tuned for results!

  • 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS – LT4 Swap

Jason’s once all-original 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 is now powered by C7 Corvette Z06’s 6.2L supercharged LT4 engine! When Jason brought us his Chevelle, he had some straightforward requirements: modernized performance (and a handful of it), modernized reliability, modernized drivability, and modernized efficiency – four boxes which the LT4 ticks beautifully. So, we got to it!

With the 396 engine removed, we started by fitting the brand new LT4 into the engine compartment & adapted to the existing TK05 transmission, then with the powertrain in place, we brought all the various supporting systems together: electrical & wiring, exhaust (utilizing OEM LT4 catalytic converters), oil cooler, radiator & cooling, supercharger intercooler pump & reservoir, heat exchanger, front drive system, air conditioning, power steering, intake system, fuel tank & fuel system, etc.

Once the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Charlie strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners.

The results were exactly what we hoped for: 550.10whp & 606.90lbft! Check out the overlay dyno graph comparing the baseline 396’s output versus the LT4’s output… pretty wild difference!

Overall, a fantastic result that achieved all of Jason’s goals for the project. We’re proud to have been involved with this incredible build!

  • 2018 Jeep Trackhawk – 950HP

    2018 Jeep Trackhawk – 950HP

Everyone, we present to you our nomination for the Ultimate Daily Driver. The Jeep Trackhawk!

Seriously, these Jeep Trackhawks are absurd. That’s the only way we can describe it. How absurd? How about 800whp+ and 750lbft from only four modifications.

Joe brought his 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (if you’re unsure what that is, it’s basically a Jeep with an SRT Hellcat 6.2L supercharged 707HP power plant) for the first round of work, broken down to only four key modifications: JLT Performance cold-air intake system, METCO MOTORSPORTS 2.85″ upper pulley and billet idler, and Stainless Works long-tube headers. All of this was brought together with a custom calibration on the dyno by Vlad via HP Tuners.

And the increase those four key modifications yielded? 813.17whp and 746.95lbft! That’s a net increase of 188.25whp and 141.58lbft increase over this Jeep Trackhawk’s baseline… again, absurd. Our horsepower greedy minds can’t help but salivate over the thought of a 2.55″ pulley, and a set of ID1050X thrown in the mix.

That’s an increase Joe is sure to notice. We are looking forward to having more of these super SUVs through the shop!

Check out the video below to see this Jeep Trackhawk in action during dyno tuning at our Richmond, VA facility!

  • 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Michael brought us his pristine LeMans Blue Metallic 2007 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06 to address the LS7’s infamous valve drop issues, and also add another ~100whp worth of naturally aspirated power in the process! Up first, John installed a set of CNC ported cylinder heads from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, custom billet-core camshaft from Cam Motion, push rods from COMP Cams, fasteners from ARP, all new OEM GM gasket, seals, fluids, and timing components (along with a C5R timing chain), with a set of long-tube headers from Stainless Works to top it all off.

After the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to bring it all together with a custom calibration via HP Tuners. The result is exactly what we were after, coming in at 545.06whp & 512.92lbft! Up next, a ported MSD Atomic intake manifold, Nick Williams 102mm throttle body, and a VaraRam intake to let this LS7 breathe a bit easier. Keep an eye out for more to come from this C6Z in the future!

  • 2008 Subaru WRX STI

    2008 Subaru WRX STI

After experiencing bearing failure, Jason brought his 2008 Subaru WRX STI in to not only get the EJ257 rumbling again, but to also lay the foundation for future modifications! After disassembling the engine to determine the full extent of damage, we discovered that Jason’s quick response to the early signs of bearing failure paid off — the VF48 turbocharger, camshafts, cylinder heads, and AVCS components were all in perfect, reusable shape (not always the case after a bearing failure).

From there, Jared got to reassembling the engine around an IAG Performance Stage-1 short block, including Killer B Motorsport Ultimate oil pickup tube, ARP 2000-series cylinder head studs, IAG Street Series air-oil separator, GDT cylinder No. 4 cooling modification, COBB Tuning turbocharger inlet mated to the existing SF intake system, GrimmSpeed 3-port electronic boost control solenoid, with all the OEM Subaru pumps, gaskets, seals, and miscellaneous components to bring it all together, with an Advanced Clutch Technology Streetlite flywheel & HDSS clutch kit transmitting the power.

With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via COBB Tuning’s Accessport. Even with 99° ambient air temperature, and a tapped-out stock STI intercooler, Vlad was able to increase output to 309.54whp & 352.06lbft on 93 octane!

With the foundational work out of the way, Jason’s in great shape for turbocharger, intercooler, and exhaust upgrades down the line to get up to that 400awhp power range.

  • 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 – 800HP

    2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 – 800HP

It goes without saying that the 650hp/650lbft LT4 engine found in the C7 Corvette Z06, Gen-VI Camaro ZL1, and V3 Cadillac CTS-V is an absolute beast of a power plant. The only drawback? The OEM supercharger is on the smaller size (1.76L), and is already rather highly spun from the factory (~20,000rpm). While there is definitely performance to be had by modifying the factory supercharger (pullies, porting, etc.), there’s a far more direct path to 700whp+… direct-fitment 2.9L twin-screw from Whipple Superchargers!

And this is exactly what this customer brought his 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in for! The baseline alone at 578.60whp & 568.56lbft through the 10L90E automatic transmission with only a Roto-Fab, LLC intake system was already an impressive starting point, but after the Whipple installation and a custom calibration by Vlad via HP Tuners, this LT4’s output jumped to 700.96whp & 682.72lbft! That’s 122.36whp & 114.16lbft increase!

Long-tube headers and a bit smaller pulley will really set this setup off, but for the time being, we think he should enjoy the new performance.

  • 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T – Supercharged

    2009 Dodge Challenger R/T – Supercharged

Mike brought us his 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T to have the 5.7L Hemi put under a little pressure! Up first, Andrew installed a complete ProCharger P-1SC-1 supercharger system, a 170° thermostat to help keep coolant temperature in check, along with a Barton Industries short-throw shifter assembly to tighten up the shifts. Once Andrew wrapped the mechanical work in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners.

The result? 503.20whp & 475.75lbft on only ~7psi! Solid outcome!

  • Vlad’s TX2K Preparation – 1,382whp & 975lbft at only 43psi!

    Vlad’s TX2K Preparation – 1,382whp & 975lbft at only 43psi!

For the past several months, Vlad had his Quicksilver 1998 Toyota Supra 6-speed putting down ~1,250whp with a maxxed out Garrett GTX4508R — and with that power level, he’s been able to row gears to consistent 8.4x quarter mile ETs at 170mph (video here). Ready to kick it up for TX2K, Vlad installed a Precision Turbo & Engine PTE8685, and let her eat! The result is a new personal best of 1,382.15whp & 975.90lbft at only 43psi! To quote Vlad, “I want to keep it together for TX2K, then I’ll see what she can really do at full kill.”

Stay tuned as Vlad puts this car deeper and deeper into the 8s, chasing that 7-second slip!
