2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt – Whipple Supercharged

Another boosted Bullitt wrapped up and on the prowl! This one belongs to Steve, who wanted to add some more spice to his 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt, but didn’t want to go quite as far off the bat as we have with some of the other Bullitts. Modifications performed below:

Whipple Superchargers Gen-V W185RF 3.0L twin-screw system, reusing the OEM GT350 throttle body
    JLT Performance 3.0 air/oil separator
Boundary Lubrication Systems billet oil pump gears & crankshaft sprocket
    Steeda adjustable engine mounts
    BMR Suspension rear vertical links
BMR Suspension double adjustable toe rods
    BMR Suspension IRS cradle lockout
    • All miscellaneous OEM Ford gaskets, seals, and components to complete the work

With the mechanical work wrapped up by Tim in the shop, John strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners. With the Whipple 3.0L delivering 10psi, Vlad increased the Gen-III Coyote’s output to 668.70whp & 558.20lbft on 93 octane! The best part is that when Steve’s ready for more, there’s another 100whp+ with a few more bolt-ons.

  • Orange Fury 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 – 500whp

    Orange Fury 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 – 500whp

Around this time last year, Eric brought us his Orange Fury 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 for the first of a planned series of modifications: a custom dyno calibration, which netted him a ~15whp & 12lbft gain, coming in at 490.75whp & 408.01lbft. And for this step, Eric brought her back in to address exhaust restriction with a set of long-tube headers!

Up first, Alex removed the factory manifolds and installed a set of 1.825″ primary OD long-tube headers from Stainless Works connecting to the factory exhaust system, and topped off the installation by welding in a set of Gen-2 UHO catalytic converters from GSport. From there, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to dial the Voodoo 5.2L back in via HP Tuners. The results this round? 510.07whp & 432.03lbft, a gain of 19.32whp & 24.02lbft with very similar conditions to the runs last year!

Pretty solid results considering this car still has a stock intake system in place, and would see an additional 10-15whp with a JLT Performance system. That, paired with an E85 calibration, and this Voodoo would be pushing up into the mid-500s naturally aspirated! Both forced inducted or naturally aspirated, these cars are just fantastic.

  • S550 2019 Ford Mustang GT – Whipple Supercharged

S550 2019 Ford Mustang GT – Whipple Supercharged

Robert brought us his 2019 Ford Mustang GT to have the Gen-III Coyote 5.0L put under pressure!

Up first in the shop, John installed a Gen-V W185RF 3.0L twin-screw system from Whipple Superchargers including a billet Roval 132mm throttle body, billet oil pump gears and crankshaft sprocket from Modular Motorsports Racing – MMR, a set of LTR7IX-11 spark plugs from NGK Spark Plugs, along with all the miscellaneous OEM Ford components to bring the engine work together, all working well with the existing 1.825″ primary OD long-tube headers from Stainless Works and 3.00″ exhaust system, and coolant expansion tank from Mishimoto Automotive.

With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, John strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners. With 93 octane in the tank, and the Whipple 3.0L delivering ~9psi, Vlad increased the Coyote’s output to 726.58whp & 571.98lbft through the 10R80 automatic transmission! Killer results all around for this S500.

  • Velocity Blue 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Velocity Blue 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

GT350 + bolt-ons + Flex Fuel = ~530whp. That equation is exactly what Zane brought us his brand new Velocity Blue 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 for!

Up first, we started off by performing pre-work dyno pulls to establish our starting point, coming in at a factory-freak level of 486.57whp & 403.10lbft. Then in the shop, Tim got to work installing a set of 1.825″ primary OD long-tube headers from Stainless Works connecting to an ATAK exhaust system from Borla Exhaust, a cold-air intake system from JLT Performance, an air-oil separator from JLT Performance, topped off with an aluminum coolant reservoir from Shelby High Performance.

From there, John strapped her back to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom inferred Flex Fuel calibration via HP Tuners. Starting off with the 93 octane calibration, output increased to 516.51whp & 434.50lbft, then after a quick fuel switch to E85, Vlad increased output to 532.46whp & 440.07lbft — a total gain of 45.89whp & 36.97lbft peak, and gains of nearly 70lbft in the lower RPM range! The coolest part is that Zane can now run any percentage of ethanol and the calibration will take care of the rest automatically.

  • 2011 Ford Mustang GT – Whipple Supercharged

2011 Ford Mustang GT – Whipple Supercharged

Lewis brought his 2011 Ford Mustang GT back in for the next round of work: BOOST! Back in November, we started working with Lewis and his Mustang by installing his long-tube headers and performing a custom dyno calibration, coming in at 419.24whp & 371.13lbft. But shortly thereafter, Lewis got the itch for more… a lot more.

So, this round, we took it up a several notches, and fit the Gen-1 Coyote 5.0L with some fine whine! Up first in the shop, John installed a Gen-V W185ax 3.0L Stage-1 twin-screw system from Whipple Superchargers, billet oil pump gears and crankshaft sprocket from Modular Motorsports Racing – MMR, along with the OEM and aftermarket odds-and-ends to bring it together, all working with the existing modifications including 1.825″ primary OD long-tube headers from BBK Performance Parts, and an exhaust system from ROUSH Performance.

With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom dyno calibration via HP Tuners. With 93 octane in the tank, and the 3.0L Whipple delivering ~8psi, Vlad increased the Coyote’s output to a healthy 685.01whp & 561.74lbft — a gain of 265.77whp & 190.61lbft over the last visit! Strong results for this stock long block Gen-1 Coyote 5.0L, that’s sure to keep Lewis entertained… for a while, at least.

  • Grabber Blue 2017 Ford Mustang GT

Grabber Blue 2017 Ford Mustang GT

Steven brought us his gorgeous Grabber Blue 2017 Ford Mustang GT to have the Coyote 5.0L put under some pressure!

Up first in the shop, Alex installed a Gen2R TVS 2300 supercharger system from VMP Performance complimented nicely with their Twinjet 67mm throttle body and fuel pump voltage booster, 1,000cc fuel injectors from Fuel Injector Clinic, Roush/VMP specific intake system from JLT Performance, 1.825″ primary OD long-tube headers from Texas Speed & Performance, billet oil pump gears from Modular Motorsports Racing – MMR, a set of LTR7IX-11 spark plugs from NGK Spark Plugs, an RST twin-disc clutch from McLeod Clutches, a short-throw shifter from MGW Shifters, a driveshaft safety loop from BMR Suspension, along with all the miscellaneous OEM Ford components to bring it all together.

With the mechanical work wrapped in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via HP Tuners. With 93 octane in the tank, and the TVS 2300 delivering ~11psi, Vlad increased the Coyote’s output to a solid 719.72whp & 574.35lbft! Killer pump gas performance, and great outcome all around.

  • Magnetic Gray 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Magnetic Gray 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Rudy brought us his Magnetic Metallic 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 with the interest of enhancing a few things in the performance department! Even though the Voodoo 5.2L comes factory with 526hp worth of naturally aspirated power (typically around 460whp on our dynos), Rudy was after just a tiny bit more… and by a tiny, we mean over 370whp more.

After putting a plan in place, the GT350 hit TJ’s lift and he got busy making it happen in the form of billet oil pump gears from Modular Motorsports Racing – MMR, a Gen-V W185RF 3.0L twin-screw system from Whipple Superchargers including a billet Roval 132mm throttle body, DeatschWerks 72lb fuel injectors, DeatschWerks 415lph in-tank fuel pump, all topped off with a twin-disc assembly from Mantic Clutch USA to put the power to the ground without sacrificing drivability.

Once all the mechanical work was done, the car was then ready to hit the rollers for a custom dyno calibration by Vlad via HP Tuners. The results? A staggering 834.99whp and 604.22lbft on 93 octane! Given that S550 GT350s weigh in at ~3800lbs, they absolutely rip at this power level!
